Design-Build Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs/ARUs) for Investors & Homeowners
Start-to-Finish: Planning, Drawings and Construction.
Building a tiny home, garden suite, laneway suite, or backyard home in Ontario shouldn’t be stressful — but for many homeowners and real estate investors, it is. Dealing with zoning rules, building permits, Ontario Building Code requirements, utility connections, and unreliable contractors often causes delays, unexpected costs, and miscommunication.
Suite Builders eliminates those headaches.
We are a design–build company specializing in custom Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs/ARUs) and Secondary Suites, offering one streamlined process from feasibility to architectural design & permit drawings and complete construction. No handoffs between separate designers and contractors. No guesswork. No delays.
Whether you’re planning a tiny home for rental income, a garden suite for aging parents, or a laneway house to increase property value, Suite Builders is your start-to-finish tiny home builder, handling everything from zoning research, to site planning, design, permit approvals, and complete construction.

Project Highlight: Laneway Home in Hamilton, Ontario
Suite Builders successfully designed & built this modern, 2-storey detached laneway home (tiny home) for a narrow, century property under strict height requirements. By avoiding a minor variance, we kept the project on track and exceeded the homeowners’ expectations. This 685 ft² tiny home was designed to provide both functional living space and a separate rental opportunity, contributing to Hamilton’s housing stock while offering the homeowners a steady source of rental income.
Why Tiny Homes & Backyard Suites are In Demand in Ontario
Ontario homeowners and real estate investors are increasingly searching for affordable and flexible housing solutions. High real estate prices, low available inventory and rising rental demand make tiny homes, garden suites, laneway suites and backyard ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units) extremely attractive.
Zoning changes across Ontario now allow Accessory Dwelling Units or Additional Residential Units (ADUs/ARUs) — opening the door for homeowners to build legal rental suites right on their existing property. Investors are also leveraging this trend to convert single-family properties into multi-unit rental income properties without buying additional land.
